Democracy at Work is a non-profit that advocates for worker cooperatives and democratic workplaces as a key path to a stronger, democratic economic system. Based on the book Democracy at Work: A Cure for Capitalism by Richard D. Wolff, we envision a future where workers at every level of their offices, stores, and factories have equal voices in the direction of their enterprise and its impact within their community and society at large.
We create the following media projects:
We also host a blog, release limited items such as books, and offer partial support to volunteer groups across the world who are committed to advocating for a stronger, democratic economic system in their local communities.
- Economic Update with Richard D. Wolff, a weekly TV and radio show and podcast
- David Harvey's Anti-Capitalist Chronicles, a bi-weekly podcast
- Global Capitalism: Live Economic Update, a bi-monthly lecture in NYC, filmed and released on Youtube
- Capitalism Hits Home, a bi-weekly podcast
- Puerto Rico Forward, a monthly podcast
Each of these are a collaborative effort, and are brought to you by the hard work and dedication of a small team of workers. To keep costs low, we work via a digital office and rely on donated time from Prof. Wolff as well as other volunteer contributors. We are a 501(c)3 but operate internally as a cooperative to better embody the ideals we believe are a critical part of effective system change.
We rely primarily on the donations of our listeners to cover the costs of wages and salaries, and production costs for all of our projects. They are indeed the lifeblood that allow us to keep going and building a movement through our radio and tv programs, podcasts, websites, blogs, books, and events. If you like our work, please consider contributing to our projects on Patreon, purchasing items in our store, or donating directly. Any amount is extremely helpful in supporting our work!

Many disagreements with Prof. Wolff, but support his general work for socialism.
