Global Capitalism: April 2017 Monthly Economic Update

Global Capitalism: "Trump’s Big Economic Plans Fade"
with Richard D. Wolff
Co-sponsored by Democracy at Work, Left Forum & Judson Memorial Church

These programs begin with 30 minutes of short updates on important economic events of the last month, then Wolff analyzes several major economic issues. This month, these issues will include:

1. Two connected failures: to repeal Obamacare, to get “tax reform”
2. The injustice of the US tax system (in honor of April 18 tax due day)
3. The economics of the US-China link and its bumpy contradictions

Our goal: To develop all participants’ understanding and ability to explain current economic events and trends to others. We open the floor to questions and comments when time permits.

Where can I find a calendar of theservice talks so that I can attend one.
I tried once before, but wasn’t able to get to the church due to a Bernie Sanders rally happening in the park outside the Judson Memorial Church, which was great, because I lovedon’t being at the rally!
I still want to attend one (or more) of Richard’s monthly updates.

One other thing about real estate tax: Many real estate taxing authorities have different tax rates for commercial, residential and agricultural or special usage property. I understand that at least some very wealthy people with large residential estates keep an animal or two, a horse, couple head of cattle, maybe let a deer or a buffalo roam, and thereby qualify for a classification of agricultural property and a significantly lower real estate tax rate and bill. I’m sure they don’t worry too much about public schools or public health clinics.
