Direct Download

Global Capitalism: "What the tax “reform” bill means to us all"
with Richard D. Wolff
Co-sponsored by Democracy at Work, Left Forum & Judson Memorial Church

These programs begin with 30 minutes of short updates on important economic events of the last month, then Wolff analyzes several major economic issues. For December 2017, these issues will include:

1. Why the revolt against workplace sex abuse now?
2. A real economic solution for that abuse
3. The economics of Trump’s Jerusalem stunt

Our goal: To develop all participants’ understanding and ability to explain current economic events and trends to others. We open the floor to questions and comments when time permits.

Billy Gills. Your comment clearly indicates who butters the bread of Congress. At the end of WW II everyone agreed to establish Israelis capital as Tel Aviv. Every country I Europe disagrees with Trump’s proposed change. Democracy requires consensus especially on decisions that involve international issues. Best

Dear Professor Wolff. I’ve been following your monthly talks since the Brecht Forum days over on West Side Highway. You say Trump came up with his idea to recognize Jerusalem as the only capital if Israel “out of nowhere”. But just a few months ago, on June 7th of this year, the US Senate unanimously passed (90-0, with votes from Sanders and Warren) a resolution (S. Res 176) which basically ordered President Trump to recognize Jerusalem as the only capital of Israel, and thus to move the US Embassy to that city toute de suite. As I understand it, that means his decision and announcement to do those things did not exactly come “out of nowhere”. Do you agree?

If women aren’t financially dependent on men, but instead get welfare, you get single mom Idiocracy. I suggest Richard Wolff get out and see the real world and what women’s liberation has gotten us.

So the answer to bad American public schools is to not let anyone opt out of terrible schools? Would you outlaw home schooling too, Professor Wolff? American public schools are totally captured by SJW liberals, and they don’t let competent people who happen to be right wing to be teachers. SJW liberal public schools are all about ideology and very little about teaching. Here’s what actually works — homeschooling Christian theocrats. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nTa5SgusO40&t=121s

The movie “Raiders of the Lost Ark” scene pops in my mind, as u discussed the tax reform bill..“throw me the idol, and I will throw you the whip”. Ends the same way…think about it.
