About the Event
We are thrilled to announce that Democracy at Work and The Left Forum are collaborating with Women Building Up (WBU) to present the first Global Capitalism lecture of 2025 and for the first time in over four years, it will be held live and in person! Professor Wolff will present the main lecture and then be joined by Dr. Harriet Fraad, Dr. Wilmer Leon and Serena Martin for an engaging panel followed by a question and answer period.
Meet the Presenters
Professor Richard D. Wolff
Richard D. Wolff is Professor of Economics Emeritus at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and co-founder of Democracy at Work. He hosts the nationally syndicated show Economic Update.
Dr. Harriet Fraad
Dr. Fraad is a mental health counselor, feminist activist, and host of Capitalism Hits Home. She specializes in analyzing the intersections of psychology and economics.
Dr. Wilmer J. Leon III
Dr. Leon is a Political Scientist, radio host, and columnist specializing in Black Politics, American Government, and Public Policy. He hosts the podcast Connecting The Dots.
Serena Martin
Serena Martin is the executive director of New Hour for Women and Children, leading advocacy efforts for incarcerated women and children. She has played a key role in carceral reform in New York State.
