Global Capitalism: Live Economic Update - Special Post-Election Event (YouTube Premiere)

Co-sponsored by Democracy at Work, Left Forum & Judson Memorial Church

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we will not be able to host this regular live event in NYC. However, we invite you to "attend" the event digitally as it premieres on our YouTube channel.

This will be a special post-election Global Capitalism featuring comments from guests Lee Camp, Lee Carter, Laura Flanders, Jessica Gordon-Nembhard, Nomi Prins, and Yanis Varoufakis.

Due to the slow finalization of the US presidential election, it will be held a week later than usual, in order to accommodate better analysis of what these elections mean for us all going forward.

It will premiere on our YouTube channel on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at 7:30 PM EST. Details below; please feel free to circulate further as we welcome new audience members.

Intended to post under “Beyond the Elections…” (but it’s all connected, right?)

We might not be sure who will win the upcoming election, but there is no doubt as to who will lose. There is no time to wait for a concerted and effective insurgency based on the principles espoused by Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr., Eugene V. Debs, Jesus of Nazareth, and other awakened revolutionaries throughout history. In the words of panelist Chris Hedges, “Resistance is not only about battling the forces of darkness. It is about becoming a whole and complete human being. It is about overcoming estrangement. It is about the capacity to love. It is about honoring the sacred. It is about dignity. It is about sacrifice. It is about courage. It is about being free. Resistance is the pinnacle of human existence.” – See you there.
