d@w-Los Angeles will host a discussion about the role of mass media in our society and how it shapes our understanding of history with René Moya from Konkret Media.

3:00pm - 4:20pm - A group discussion on How have mass media contributed to our understanding of history and contemporary society? Who benefits from main-stream narratives, and what are alternatives can be offered?
4:20pm - 4:30pm - Break
4:30pm - 5:45pm - Guest speaker: René Christian Moya. René is a socialist organizer and founder of a new left-wing media collective, Konkret Media. Born and raised in Los Angeles, René is currently active in the LA Tenants Union, agitating for housing as a human right in working class communities. He studied at Dartmouth College and at the University of London.
5:45pm - 6:00pm - Good-byes.
