d@w-NYC Screening: "WEconomics: Italy"
This is an independent event hosted by a d@w Action Group. Please direct all questions to the contact listed below.
The Emilia-Romagna region in northern Italy has one of the highest concentrations of cooperative businesses in the developed world. The capital, Bologna, is an industrial powerhouse, where prosperity is widely shared, and cooperatives of teachers and social workers play a key role in the provision of government services.
As part of Democracy at Work New York City's monthly meeting on August 17, we will be exclusively showing 'WEconomics', a short film by Bullfrog Films about the Italian region where worker cooperatives produce 30% of its GDP. Admission is FREE but donations are welcome.

d@w-NYC is a newly formed action group aimed at educating the community about democratizing the workplace, and providing support to local businesses interested in transitioning to the worker cooperative and workers self-directed enterprise (WSDE) models. The film will give supporters, activists and all interested parties information about the concept and feasibility of a worker cooperative and WSDE based economy at large-scale.
