The current pandemic and economic crisis further expose capitalism for the unjust, unstable system it is, one that puts profits before the health and well-being of people. The coming rush to respond to these issues and return to “normal” is an opportunity to rebuild, reorient and reorganize our world. But where do we go, what do we do, and with what knowledge and intentions?
We hope to productively contribute to this process with This is Left, a new d@w web series featuring many voices from across the spectrum of left politics.
This is Left will feature many contributors who will share their thoughts and knowledge about our past, present, and future from a left perspective. We envision this as a space for short, shareable videos that can clearly and concisely explain left criticisms and analysis of our current situation as well as visions for a better future in grounded and relatable ways.
We are kicking this series off with two videos:
Capitalism's Surveillance Squeeze - Zoe Sherman, Associate Professor of Economics at Merrimack College
- Pandemic Politics and Today's Mass Uprising - Kristin Lawler, Associate Professor of Sociology at College of Mount Saint Vincent in the Bronx
We are committed to keeping this series free and accessible and we hope you’ll find it valuable and useful as well. Please help us spread the word by sharing this post and the videos with family and friends. If you are able to and would like to contribute to our work, visit us at www.democracyatwork.info/donate.
