Enrollment went up and funding went down. I am sometimes of the opinion that certain higher-ups want it this way and may be by design. It is more prudent to educate the capitalist class (private schools, capitalist curriculum) thus ensuring the survival of capitalism. To fund public education is frowned upon because poor people are publcally educated and that is the very class of people that could potentially upset the apple cart. I don’t think I’m wrong in saying that much of what we are seeing in terms of backward legislation for the “public good” is by design and no accident.
