Global Capitalism: January 2018 Monthly Economic Update

Global Capitalism: "The GOP/Trump Plan for 2018: Cut Social Services & Programs"
with Richard D. Wolff
Co-sponsored by Democracy at Work and Judson Memorial Church

These programs begin with 30 minutes of short updates on important economic events of the last month, then Wolff analyzes several major economic issues. For January 2018, these issues will include:

  1. Reviving the “privatization” myth (that private works better)
  2. Reviving the “deficit problem” myth (their tax cut caused that deficit)
  3. Pushing the bottom 2/3 of Americans into long-term economic decline
Our goal: To develop all participants’ understanding and ability to explain current economic events and trends to others. We open the floor to questions and comments when time permits.

Request: If you access the videos of these monthly updates via our website or YouTube, we ask you to join our attendees who contribute at least $10 at each monthly update to help defray costs of producing, video-taping, and distributing these videos. Please contribute by using the "donate" button aboveContributions are tax deductible. To those able to contribute more than $10, our special thanks.

Have a question. Why are you not analyzing the 22 Trillion dollar capitalist deficit in conjunction with the 21 % corporate tax as the ultimate toppling of our barely recovered economy? Do you think the American people can’t handle the truth? I would like to see more of your analysis rounded out with a complete set of liabilities and assets. The full montey. Also, you can’t be a one trick pony, what else do you have up your sleeve other than co-op’s to stabilize the American voter and economy? I am quickly becoming a fan…my name is Cherunda Fox. I also ran for President in 2016.

One of the best Global Economic Updates I’ve heard Prof. Wolff deliver in the 2+ years I’ve been following the program. Passionate, informative, persuasive, and topical. Anybody who remained after hearing it a cheerleader for capitalism, or at the least failed to entertain serious doubts about the system’s efficacy and morality, would need to have their head examined. You rock, Rick!
