We can do better than capitalism.

Democracy at Work is a non-profit 501(c)3 that produces media and live events. Based on the book Democracy at Work: A Cure for Capitalism by Richard D. Wolff, our work analyzes capitalism critically as a systemic problem and advocates for democratizing workplaces as part of a systemic solution. We seek a stronger, fuller democracy – in our politics and culture as well as in our economy - based on workers’ equal collaboration and shared leadership inside enterprises and throughout society.

"In the desert that is the mass media, Democracy@Work is an oasis that provides thoughtful, comprehensive and inspirational discussions. No matter the topic, Democracy@Work is the go-to source for “the other side of the coin.”
- Dave P., d@w fan for 5 yrs

We create the following media projects:

We also produce books such as Understanding Marxism (2018), Understanding Socialism (Nov 2019), and The Sickness is the System: When Capitalism Fails to Save Us from Pandemics or Itself (2020)

We offer partial support to d@w-Study Groups: volunteer groups across the world who are committed to self and community education of the topics covered in our media, as well as advocating for a stronger, democratic economic system in their local communities.

Each of these are a collaborative effort, and are brought to you by the hard work and dedication of a small team of workers. To keep costs low, we work via a digital office and rely on donated time from Prof. Wolff all of our show hosts, and other volunteer contributors. We are a 501(c)3 but operate internally as a cooperative to better embody the ideals we believe are a critical part of effective system change.

We rely primarily on the donations of our listeners to cover the costs of wages and salaries, and production costs for all of our projects. They are indeed the lifeblood that allow us to keep going and building a movement through our radio and tv programs, podcasts, websites, blogs, books, and events. If you like our work, please consider contributing directly to our projects on Patreon, purchasing items in our union co-op store, or donating directly from our website. Any amount is extremely helpful in supporting our work! Help spread our message of economic justice and democracy in the workplace and in our communities.
